Hemp is on the brink of a nationwide ban starting November 2026,
and millions of Americans may lose access to the products they rely on for sleep, relief, calm, and everyday wellness.
So why is access now being threatened behind closed doors?
A last-minute funding measure passed in late 2025 has left farmers and businesses facing serious uncertainty,
with one major concern hanging in the air:
Will hemp still be permitted by the time crops are ready to come out of the ground?
There is, however, a constructive way forward. H.R. 7024, the Hemp Planting Predictability Act introduced by Rep. Jim Baird, would preserve essential timelines, safeguard U.S. growers, and allow policymakers to craft practical, well-considered rules.
The hemp community supports responsible standards, including:
• Minimum age limits
• Mandatory product testing
• Child-safe packaging
• Strong consumer safeguards
What we oppose is an outright crackdown that harms farmers and small businesses.
